  1. Right – well, if it’s near Hucknall, my guess is that it was in Ashfield before 1983, and Broxtowe before the creation of that seat in 1955.

Nope, before being moved into the newly redrawn seat of Sherwood in was in Carlton (now Gedling).

  2. In which case it would have been in Carlton from 1974-83 but Ashfield before that as Barnaby says (1955-74) and Broxtowe 1918-55. It would have been in Rushcliffe from 1885 to 1918.
It must be about time it changed constituency again

  3. Which seats have included Hucknall? It must have been in this one since ‘83

  4. James North BNP ppc for Sherwood

  5. “Which seats have included Hucknall? It must have been in this one since ‘83″

It has been in this seat since 1983. Before that the constituency history of Hucknall was:

    1885-1918 Rushcliffe
    1918-1955 Broxtowe
    1955-1974 Nottingham North
    1974-1983 Ashfield

  6. Thank you

  7. Please update Margot Parker UKIP candidate for Sherwood profile to the following.

Margot Parker ( UKIP) Born Grantham. Educated KGGS. Trade Association Spokesperson.Consultant EU/UK Legislation.

  8. Lab Hold= 2,000 maj

  9. Lab Hold

    Maj 1400

  10. Con maj 500

  11. Demographically this is probably trending Conservative, but I think the swing they need is still a bit high. LAB HOLD

  12. Whilst ‘easier’ seats didn’t fall, this one did.
Though it’s only a 214 vote majority for Mark Spencer.

  13. Pete right, me wrong. You should do it for a living.

  14. ‘1955-1974 Nottingham North’ [Hucknall]

If this was the case, shouldn’t the seat maybe have had a different name during this period as evidently it covered territory outside Nottingham itself? Rushcliffe had rather sprawling boundaries as well until about 1974.
