  1. An interesting fight for 2nd place here only.

  2. Lab maj 12,000

  3. LAB HOLD

  4. Has Runcorn been in this seat since 1983? I know it had its own seat from 1950 to 1983. Was it in the Northwich seat from 1885 to 1950?

  5. Runcorn was in Northwich from 1885-1918 and in Eddisbury 1918-1950 (though areas like Norton which are now part of Runcorn were in Northwich). Since 1983 Runcorn has been split with the western part of the town being in this seat and the eastern part firstly in Warrington South and since 1997 in this seat.

  6. Is there a loacl reason why the Tory sahre stayed at 20% here? Was it the intervention of BNP & UKIP taking 7%?

  7. I’m liking the new name – Widnes & Runcorn – so much more descriptive than naming it after the local authority

  8. It is. I’m all in favour of naming constituencies after the owns that make them up rather than bland local authority name compromises.

  9. I agree. Neighbouring ‘Mersey Banks’ is an interesting name. Perhaps Mersey Shore or Hollyoaks will be next as Riverside already exists ha

  10. I can’t see Hollyoakes ever displacing City of Chester

  11. Paul D – ha I made the point, as its actually filmed in Lpool where Brookside was, not Chester/Cheshire as they pretend, I assume to attract a Southern audience.
