New Seats
Eleven countries receive an extra seat under the new boundaries, and changes in seats in London and North Yorkshire mean that two new seats are created, although the total number of seats doesn’t rise (in fact London loses a seat overall). Of these ten seats have notional Conservative majorities and three have notional Liberal Democrat majorities, though in some cases the knock-on effect upon neighbouring seats means that the Conservatives or Lib Dems are not the net beneficiaries (for example, in London the new Fulham & Chelsea seat will be safely Conservative, but the removal of Fulham from the old Hammersmith & Fulham seat means that the new Hammersmith seat will be notionally Labour – so it is actually Labour who end up gaining a seat).
