Today we have our three regular Monday polls and all three are showing Labour and the Conservatives within a point of each other:

Lord Ashcroft’s weekly poll has topline figures of CON 29%, LAB 30%, LDEM 9%, UKIP 16%, GRN 7% (tabs here).

The twice weekly Populus poll has topline figures of CON 35%, LAB 36%, LDEM 7%, UKIP 11%, GRN 5%. This is the lowest that any poll has shown UKIP for a while, though Populus do tend to give them some of their lowest scores anyway (tabs here).

Finally YouGov for the Sun have topline figures of CON 33%, LAB 32%, LDEM 7%, UKIP 15%, GRN 8%. The eight point score for the Greens is the highest that YouGov have shown to date, and only the second time they’ve put them ahead of the Liberal Democrats.

I get a 404 with that link. Any better available please?

  2. 404 for that link as well.

  3. That’s strange – both worked ok for me.

  4. That’s computers for you, Bramley! It’s enough to make you vote UKIP so we can get back to quill pens….

  5. Please Norbold, fountain pens surely (or BIC biros possibly).

I get the website but with the 404. Strange, because you would think it were possible to reach the page by delving but no sign of it.

  6. The only tables I could find were a set of questions aabout reasons to vote for/against Con/Lab.

    Will the link work?

Hurrah, you are a star. Thanks to our other colleagues too.

Now to peruse, let’s hope it’s worth it. I note that they allow a long time for fieldwork, seeing that it is an online poll.

Afraid I didn’t find it worth it. :-(

  9. What would have happened if the unionist parties had campaigned separately? Without a co-odinated stance. Confusion? Mixed messages? Yessers saying unionist parties can’t work together? How do you decide who represents what aspect, stands for the debates etc.

  10. OldNat
Neither did I, it isn’t the VI poll.

  11. OMG! I have just watched a video of the totally gorgeous Myleene Klass giving Ed Miliband a right going over about the wrongness of mansion tax.

The Scots turn on Labour, now the Luvvies turn on Labour. Who will be next, Unite?

Seems that the poll was never intended for publication

So who knows what the question order, leading questions etc might have been involved.

“Please Norbold, fountain pens surely (or BIC biros possibly)”

That’s practically treason: BIC biros are FRENCH

Molotov/Ribbentrop: so which of DC and NS are AH and JS? Sorry, I don’t think either cut the mustard!

  14. Guymonde

And “biro” is Hungarian! Do we want to see a Magyar takeover of this sceptred isle(s)?

  15. Yes of course. I suppose I was OK with the Parker pen or is that a Yank?

If Opinium asked those questions before the one on VI (that should not have been released), then it was a worthless effort anyway.

I doubt if they did though, they can’t be that daft.

  16. @ Old Nat

It’s even worse as Laszlo Biro became an Argentinian citizen. His birthday the day of invention there.

  17. A Parker Pen factory used to be in Newhaven East Sussex – demolished last May.

They might at least have followed local tradition – waited till November and blown it up. :-)
